There are many reasons why people come for singing lessons, and every reason is important to me.
I love working with students of all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to pros.
Regardless of the reasons why you want to sing or work on your music, it's helpful to define a few goals for each term.
Do you want to work on a particular song that means something special to you, and perhaps give it your own twist?
Are you interested in extending your range, or writing your own songs?
Perhaps you're wanting to be a karaoke legend!
Would you like to build up your confidence and skills towards performing on stage?
Maybe you want to record songs that you can share with the world.
Let me know what you'd like to achieve, and I'll tailor your lessons to match your goals.
Unless alternative arrangements are made, all lessons are held at my home studio in The Wood, Central Nelson.
We always start our lessons together with a variety of warm ups and vocal exercises, and then we move on to the singing of your selected tunes.
Along with the traditional practice of developing good techniques, running scales and developing your voice by working on songs, I have a range of other skills that I can incorporate into lessons:
-Mentoring and competition preparation
-Goal setting and project planning
-Confidence building
-Preparing for live performances
-Song writing
-Basic music theory
-Production on Logic
-Demo recordings
- Accompaniment instrument tuition on piano and guitar

Terms and Conditions
These conditions have been written with the goal of being as fair as possible to my students/clients while also making sure I can run a sustainable business.
There are a limited amount of times available on my schedule for students to acquire, so it’s important to be mindful that every space is valuable and we all benefit from you committing to owning your place on my timetable.
These T's and C's apply to lessons booked both online and in person.
A full term commitment is expected for students to secure their place on my schedule.
Term fee payments are non refundable. These payments guarantee your regular allocated time slot.
Cancellations and Illness:
- Lessons cancelled on the same day forfeits the lesson fee.
- If you have an unexpected illness or event that occurs, please contact me ASAP to request a class credit.
- Please be on time as lessons are often booked with another student directly before and after your session.
- 3 days notice of changes to your booked lesson is required to avoid forfeit.
- No shows automatically forfeit that lesson's fee.
- Only one catch up lesson is permitted every term & issued on availability.
- Please be proactive in rebooking if you want to take up the offer of a catch-up lesson for a session missed. Catch up lessons cannot be carried over into subsequent terms. If you cancel your catch up lesson, it will be automatically forfeited. If you don't contact me to book in for a catch-up session in the two weeks after the term ends, the credit will be forfeited.
If I need to cancel your lesson, this will be rescheduled ASAP with you.
If I have cancelled your lesson and no suitable substitute time can be found, the lesson fee will be refunded or credited on the following term.
